Online Class Assignments for 12-4-2017
Good morning! I'm sorry we can't get together for class today, ... mechanical difficulties on my part.
However, this is what we were going to do today -- minus my mindless chatter. If you're not able to stay home and do it at home, don't forget that you can go to the Writing Center or the library to use the computer. If you're going to use a public computer, be sure to bring ear plugs or head phones so that you can listen to the videos.
Here's what to do for today:
1) Journal: The HUG Project. Watch the video. In your journal, write a comment, question, and/or reflection. What do you think this project is about? What does it say about us as a society? [Don't forget that all journal entries are due on Wednesday.] Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vr3x_RRJdd4
2) GRIT - go to the assignment in this module. It's graded as a class assignment.
* Watch the TED Talk featuring Angela Duckworth – “Grit – the Power of Passion and Perseverance”
* After the 6-minute video, write a 3-minute reflection/response. What did you like/dislike, what did you notice, what questions do you have?
* Take the 12-item Grit Scale … write a reflection on what you found.
3) Homework: Module 11 – Next Steps ... These are all assignments we've reviewed/talked about. PLEASE email me asap if you have any questions or concerns about any of them. But, also, PLEASE check out the Canvas assignment pages first.
